Foundation processes and the influence of crises
Crises can have an accelerating effect on start-up processes. This is confirmed by the analysis of start-ups during the global economic and financial crisis of 2008/09.
But can this result also be confirmed for the Corona crisis? Answers to this question can be found in the current policy brief "Start-up processes and the influence of crises".
Periods of crisis can awaken the founding spirit - whether due to the threat of unemployment or in the wake of new business opportunities arising from the crisis.
In order to assess how crises affect the implementation of start-up plans, the authors of the policy brief "Start-up processes and the influence of crises" examined the questions of how start-up processes generally proceed, which factors influence the duration of the start-up process and how an acute economic crisis situation affects the start-up process and early business development.
The Institut für Mittelstandsforschung (IfM) Bonn and the Förderkreis Gründungs-Forschung e.V. (FGF) have jointly launched the Policy Brief "Entrepreneurship in Focus" (formerly "Mittelstand aktuell"). On 2 pages scientifically founded research results on current topics are presented together with possible recommendations for action.
All researchers who are active in the field of entrepreneurship, start-up and innovation research or who are researching family businesses, SMEs and SME policy are invited to publish in the Policy Brief - provided that a reference to a currently relevant topic is given. In this way, you can not only highlight your high level of expertise, but also make a valuable contribution to SME policy.
If you would like to make a contribution to "Entrepreneurship in Focus", please send an email to policy-brief@ifm-bonn.org. You will then receive a Word template for your text. All submitted policy briefs will be reviewed by the editorial board.
